Workshop a Hazudós Egér témában

The workshop around The Mouse with a Mouth is part of the collection of workshops called “The workshops around…” and organized by the association Révélations hongroises.
These are discovery workshops which offer a pedagogical and ludic itinerary around a film, a director, a character or a topic.

Working on animation - running cycle on a green screen

The main purpose of the workshop around The Mouse with a Mouth is to make the participants discover the different steps of making the cutouts animation short film of the Hungarian director Andrea Kiss - from the preparation work (sketches, script writing, sound researches…) to the post-production - passing through the shooting and the animation.
By exploring the small secrets of making The Mouse with a Mouth, the aim is to point out the richness of animation film and more specifically of traditional animation (cut-outs and water-color in this instance) as a mean of expression as well as to show the participants how this kind of film is made.
Even though the workshop is mainly intended for school children (between 4 and 11 years old), it is indeed open to every kind of audiences.
The more difficult and technical points are addressed taking into consideration the vocabulary and the knowledge of each participant and with a systematical use of visual and sound examples (diagram, screening of selected extracts from the film…)
Showing original items (articulated characters, background sets, props…) and documents (story-board, synoptic board…) used in making the film allows the participants to become “insiders” considering the making of the film and makes it easier - especially for children - to understand the more technical points.

From the story-board to the film frames

It is possible and valuable to present the workshop together with the exhibition The Mouse with a Mouth, from the story-board to the film frames which presents the same steps (making of the film) in 24 printed boards (A3 ou A2).
